Deputy Prime Minister and chairman of the Madhesi People’s Rights Forum (Democratic) Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has said that the ongoing Tarai protest organized by some Tarai centric parties has no meaning as their demands were already addressed by the amendment to the constitution.
DMP Gachchhadar, at a news conference here today, pointed out the need of ending the protest programmes as it had badly affected the whole country and the people for long.
He added that the ongoing Tarai protest had caused billions of losses to the economy along with other losses therefore it should be ended soon. DPM Gachchhadar said that the genuine demands of Tarai people were addressed by the constitution amendment while other demands related to province delineation would be addressed gradually.
Meanwhile, addressing the programme organised to mark the golden jubilee of Aadarsha Higher Secondary School at a village in Dhankuta, DPM Gachhadar said that a huge people’s participation and their enthusiasm for education has indicated the importance of education.
Recognising the contribution given by educationists to providing education to children, he said that such exemplary and praise-worthy works would help in uplifting standards of education.
Also on the occasion, former Minister Sunil Kumar Thapa spoke. Likewise on the occasion, a free health check-up was also conducted, where around 1,500 underwent health check-up, it has been said. RSS
